PIST6
PIST6 brings high-speed cycling together with culture, design, and spectacle — transforming track racing into a modern, immersive fan experience.
I collaborated with PIST6 to design a series of high-impact patterns for their track-cycling athlete gear. The visuals were generated using AI and then up-rezzed and refined to meet production-grade graphic standards. These patterns were applied across apparel templates from several leading track-cycling sports brands, creating a cohesive range of custom performance outfits. The final garments were produced in Japan using advanced UV-printing techniques on specialized fabrics, and the full collection was presented in a catalog from which athletes could select and order their preferred designs.
In addition to the apparel patterns, I developed a series of supporting materials that documented and visualized the full creative pipeline. This included AI-generated swatch explorations, 3D tech-pack modeling and animation, and both post-photography and synthetic photography to illustrate how the outfits would appear in real-world racing environments. The entire project was produced through a custom hybrid workflow that combined AI systems with traditional design tools, ensuring both conceptual innovation and production accuracy. The client was extremely satisfied with the results, particularly the versatility and visual impact of the final patterns.
AI Swatch Exploration
Early pattern concepts were generated using AI, producing a wide range of visual swatches. These were curated, refined, and organized into a cohesive design direction in collaboration with my partner at MASH and the PIST6 team.
Up-Res & Production Prep
Selected swatches were up-resed and rebuilt for production-level clarity. Each pattern was enhanced for large-format printing, ensuring clean edges, high detail, and color integrity suitable for UV-printing on performance fabrics.
3D Outfit Generation
Using custom 3D tech-pack workflows, I translated the patterns onto digital garment models. This allowed the team to visualize fit, placement, and scale before physical production, ensuring accuracy and reducing sampling time.
Hybrid AI + Traditional Pipeline
All assets were created through a tailored workflow that merged AI generation, digital reconstruction, and traditional design tools. This ensured both exploratory creativity and production-ready precision.
Synthetic Photography / Conceptual Imagery
Synthetic photography was used to simulate real-world scenarios—showing how the gear would look on athletes, in motion, or on the track. These conceptual images communicated the energy and functionality of the designs without requiring a full physical shoot.
